Actually, this is a reasonable evaluation of the reasons WHY gun bans wouldn't work ... here.
Which is not to say that some asshole won't try it anyway.
Here are the five reasons (but to see the video anyway ... okay?)
Assuming you're the guy who knocks on the door of Americans, and your job is to take their guns:
- "America would never support a nationwide gun ban. Even if you set aside the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, which protects our God-given right to self defense by guaranteeing our right to keep and bear arms, conservative states (like Texas) would stand up and fight such a broad infringement." Translation: do you REALLY think you can knock on my door and convince me into giving up my guns?
- Focussing on “scary guns” or an assault weapons ban does little to curb gun violence. 80% of gun crimes are committed using handguns: Translation: When you knock on a door to tell the resident that "all guns are bad, and you find yourself cross-eyed looking down the barrel of a loaded gun, will you quickly decide that "NOT ALLl guns are bad". What is the next words that come out of your mouth? Would it be: "Never mind ... goodbye!" ?
- Focussing on “scary guns” or an assault weapons ban does little to curb gun violence. 80% of gun crimes are committed using handguns. Translation: that gun in your nose is terribly disconcerting; is that a 'scary gun'? Yes, it is.
- Gun confiscation never works as expected. Typically, only one third of citizens will obey this restrictive gun control initiative. Studies show that once guns are banned legally, they quickly turn up in the black market. Making background checks, universal or otherwise, grossly. Translation: the chances that 2 of the 3 doors you knock on will be answered by a man with a gun. Are you sure you really want to knock on that door ... personally?
- Currently, it is estimated there are 325 million (or more) firearms in the United States, making us the country to have amassed this impressive level of gun ownership. Therefore, it’s statistically impossible for any gun control model to able to be effective. Translation: How many doors can you knock on per day, knowing that you'll have a pistol poked up your snout at nine out of the ten doors you knock on before you realize there has GOT to be a better way to earn twelve dollars an hour?
- If supply controls are the answer, gun control advocates need to outline the supply-side policies they propose will end gun violence while substantiating how the policy will also allow lawful gun owners to keep firearms. But that gun control logic just doesn’t add up – and they end up blaming the gun lobby, which is, ironically, comprised of law-abiding citizens who oppose gun control. Translation: how comfortable are you knocking on doors to tell the residents to 'give up their guns', and how many days are you willing to face armed resistance before you got back to your old job of selling Fuller Brushes? And before you go, perhaps you might agree that "gun owners do NOT need to outline their supply-side policies"? Of course you will!
