October 05, 2015 — The only gun store in San Francisco is shuttering for good, saying it can no longer operate in the city’s political climate of increased gun control regulations and vocal opposition to its business. “It’s with tremendous sadness and regret that I have to announce we are closing our shop,” High Bridge Arms manager Steve Alcairo announced in a Facebook post on Sept. 11. “It has been a long and difficult ride, but a great pleasure to be your last San Francisco gun shop.”
This is no joke. Increasingly inane civil regulations have finally driven ALL gun stores out of San Francisco.
Tony Bennett described "Frisco" as a much more amiable environment, but the clean streets have turned into mean streets in the past decade as California in general, and SF specifically, have deliberately become increasingly belligerent in it's "fight against gun violence".
After today, the only way to get a gun in SF is to steal one from a distracted federal agent ... which apparently isn't much of a challenge.
Warning: after today, tourists will not feel too timid to refer to the city as "FRISCO", which has always been considered a not-too-subtle insult to the locals.
So what are they going to to, offer to ban you from the free cable-car rides? Hah! Nobody but the hoods have weapons, so the cable-cars are now OPEN SEASON for muggers. Say goodbye to the tourist trade, Frisco. You asked for it, and now you're going to get it, you Sanctuary City Idiots!

I grew up in San Francisco, but escaped at age 17. When I was a kid in CA open carry was legal. I used to shoot rats at the SF dump. I would ride there on my bike with my single shoot rifle strapped to it. Believe or not both senators and our local congressman were Republicans. Gov Brown (jerry's dad) was a D but very conservative. CA in general and SF in particular is a victim of their own tolerance. They tolerated all kinds of weirdos so more and more kept coming. You see the result.
Just wait until they decide, in the interests of "public safety", to institute, New-York-style police policies and tactics.
I, for one, will have no qualms about referring to the city as, "Frisk-o".
