"I want my CDC"

Medical Groups Urge Congress to Restore Funding for CDC Gun Violence Research:
A coalition of 141 medical organizations sent a letter to four senior members of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees on Wednesday urging them to restore funding for gun violence research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “Medical professionals and our communities work to address the devastating and long-lasting physical and emotional effects of gun violence on victims, their families and their friends, but are hampered by the insufficient body of evidence-based research to use to point communities toward proven gun violence prevention programs and policies,” the letter reads.
These guys, who can't get the public and charitable donations to finance their 'gun violence research' projects, want the Feds to remove the restrictions on CDC studies.

You remember the CDC?
They're the folks who used YOUR tax money to 'prove' that "GUNS ARE EVIL!"

The thing is ...

... they (CDC) can still use their Bully Pulpit to campaign for gun control; they just can't use it without reporting the entire subject in an objective, balanced manner.   When they began to treat 'gun violence' like an 'epidemic', they crossed the line.  Now they're paying for it out of their own pocket.
Funny, the good folks at CDC don't seem to want to spend their own money to advance their political creed.

And neither do these "141 medical organizations".

They want YOU to pay for biased research and reporting which would be used to undermine YOUR Second Amendment Rights.

And they think that YOU should think that is A Good Idea!

Hell, we might as well leave our house keys in the front door latch.

The CDC was SO effective in preventing Ebola from entering the country and establishing effective treatment and quarantine protocols. The CDC is also very effective in preventing various diseases, often of a tropical nature, from entering into our country from across our southern border, carried by the hoards of illegal aliens swarming across.

The second "gun violence" was viewed as an "epidemic" or a "disease", the rest was a foregone conclusion.

Seriously, did anyone ever think the Center for Disease Control and Prevention would NOT advocate getting rid of guns, when the opening premise is that "gun violence" is a disease -- caused, naturally, by "gun ownership" -- to be controlled and prevented?

The grand irony, as "Anonymous 6:39 am" alluded to, is that the CDC was marginally more effective at trying to "prevent" "gun violence" -- by abridging Americans' civil rights -- than they ever were at controlling or preventing any actual, microbial-caused disease.

Bureaucratic efficiency, right there.

Dammit Archer, didn't I ask you not to contribute better punch lines than mine?
