"Nobody was hurt": Second Amendment Peaceful Protest In Colorado

In an "Open Carry" demonstration in Boulder, Colorado recently ...

.... some ... a few ... many ... most ... all of the protesters were  carrying firearms which may or may not have been loaded with live ammunition.

Nobody asked, nobody told.  And it didn't matter.

Boulder police made 'tactical decision' to let demonstrators break city gun law during protest - Boulder Daily Camera:

 It's illegal in Boulder to openly carry a firearm unless it's held in a "carrying case" — a holster for a handgun, for example, or something larger and easily recognizable in the case of a larger weapon. And, yet, on Saturday afternoon in downtown Boulder, some among the group that lined Broadway to rally in opposition to the City Council's proposed ban on assault weapons stood with AR-15-style rifles slung over their shoulders.

'The most important thing about Saturday's rally was that no one was hurt and no one's rights were infringed,'

City Attorney Tom Carr, who said the police did not intervene as open-carry laws were being broken because doing so might have escalated the situation.

Well, that's the way it ought to be.  You break the law, you go to jail; but nobody broke the PEACE, which served to demonstrate that the People of The Gun are a peaceful folk, whose priority is to observe the implied criteria of the Second Amendment:

The Great Aurora, Colorado Gun Debate

Recently, the Arapahoe County (Colorado) District Attorney George Brauchler and the Aurora Sentinel editor Dave Perry found the time to write opposing Editorials in Dave's Newspaper (in George's county).    Their subject was the 2012 Theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

I've decided to post large quotes from both public figures, if only to illustrate the margin of difference between the Liberal Editor and the Conservative D.A.

(Note: The quotes have been edited slightly to improve readability; no part of either statement has been edited in content.)

Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler is the smart and affable Aurora DA who helped convict James Holmes for the Aurora theater shooting murders and assaults. Brauchler is now running for governor.

He nearly won a death sentence against the sadistic and hopelessly mentally ill Holmes for murdering 12 people five years ago on July 20.  ...  The anniversary of the grisly massacre coincided with the regular meeting last week of the politically rightest of the right, the Western Conservative Summit in Denver. In a straw poll, Brauchler won the group’s endorsement for governor in 2018. He came out on top among other conservative hopefuls in part because of his remarks about gun laws.  

Brauchler said — in the shadow of the anniversary of one of the worst gun-massacres in the history of the United States — that there is no gun law he’s heard of that could have prevented the Aurora theater shooting.   

 Now I know full well that Brauchler is just pandering to the gun set when he says things like that, even if he means it. It’s no different than Democrat gubernatorial candidates telling teachers they’ll help keep the union strong — except teachers don’t kill nearly as many people as do guns.

Boulder deputy shoots self during handgun training:

BOULDER - A deputy with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office was injured while participating in the department's handgun training Thursday morning. The deputy was on the firing line at 9:40 a.m., when he drew his weapon and shot at a target. When he was holstering his weapon and turning to the range training deputy, he said he shot himself in the leg.

In COLORADO????
Who knew?  I thought they were a safe, Democratic State!  They still let their cops carry guns?

Since the deputy was obviously a Highly Trained Peace Officer, the blame can only be directed to the gun.  Um .. pistol.  Handgun. Whatever.

Colorado Governer Explains .. sort-of ... we think. Maybe. Or maybe not.

Hickenlooper supported gun magazine limit because of staffer promise - The Denver Post:

Gov. John Hickenlooper told county sheriffs at a recent gathering he felt conflicted about supporting a bill that limited ammunition magazines, but because one of his "staff made a commitment," he felt compelled to sign it into law.
 "To be honest, no one in our office thought it would get through the legislature," Hickenlooper, a Democrat, said in an unedited video recorded by the conservative group Revealing Politics. "There were several Democrats who said without question they weren't going to vote for it."

 .. Hickenlooper didn't believe in the bill, no one in (his) office thought it would "get through the legislature", but still one of his "staff made a commitment" ?

So he felt obliged compelled to support that single committed staff member ... who was not in his office?

What the heck?  He has a 'staff' member who is not 'in (his) office'?

Well, hell, no WONDER he's "Conflicted"!  He doesn't even know whether his committed staff member is a member of his staff.

He can't tell the truth from a lie without a teleprompter.
