US appeals court upholds California bullet stamping law | KATU: SAN FRANCISCO (AP)

— A California requirement that new models of semi-automatic handguns stamp identifying information on bullet casings is a "real-world solution" to help solve gun crimes, a divided U.S. appeals court said Friday in a decision that upheld the novel law. The stamping requirement and two measures intended to make guns safer did not violate the 2nd Amendment because they left plenty of firearms for sale in California and were reasonable to further the state's goal of keeping people safe, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said in a 2-1 decision. Gun rights advocates had argued that manufacturers didn't have the technology to implement the stamping requirement, so the law was effectively a ban on the sale of new guns in the state. Writing for the majority, Judge M. Margaret McKeown said the inability to buy particular guns did not infringe the 2nd Amendment right to self-defense in the home.
This is, of course, pure bovine excrement. It renders the most popular and useful firearms for personal and home defense unabtainable for the average citizen
Dear Californians; I hope you have already bought all of the new pistols you will ever need, because you may never be able to buy a "new model" of a semi-automatic pistol in your state again.
The firearms manufacturers will build them, but they can't sell them in California. Unless, of course, you're willing to pay double (or perhaps triple) the price that citizens of your neighboring states can pay to buy the same gun. And you'll call yourself fortunate ... if they are even available.It isn't a matter of not being able to buy "particular guns", it's a matter of finding ANY gun manufacturer of semi-automatic handguns who is willing to change their manufacturing process to accommodate your new laws.
California has just become a "Niche Market" thanks to the "NUTTY NINTH".
In the future, you will be able to self-identify yourself not as "California", but as "The Revolver Nation".
That has a nice ring to it, don't you think? [snark]
Note: the newspaper article is short on information: It only refers to:new models of semi-automatic handguns. We don't know if new guns of "existing models" (eg: "current being manufactured") are affected.

It has long been said that California is the trend setter. As California goes, so goes the nation. We are doomed.
ANY change to a current roster approved semi-auto pistol requires that it be resubmitted for approval and since they can't comply with the microstamping there will be no more new or upgraded pistols. What they have is all the have. I doubt they could even be repaired as that would mean a change and have to be re-certified. In 20 years there will be no approved pistols on the roster, only revolvers. Until Kommiefornistan figure out a way to ban those.
Don't forget that cops are EXEMPT from this law and can sell their own "special" guns to the public.
I wish you guys would point out the inherent racism in these laws, Who gets hurt the African American population who are disproportionately poor or the rich white guy who will have no problem paying extra to still be able to buy guns.

Latest news out of Lodi,Ca. A HS student was kicked out of school for wearing a NRA T-shirt and other students were lectured by the teacher as to why the NRA and guns were bad.
I just hope that the firearms manufacturers wont be able to sell new semi auto firearms to police departments in California either. That will really cause a shit storm.
