Things That Make Me Wonder If Being A Range Officer Is Such A Good Idea After All

When you see something like this ... you have to wonder if you really saw what you thought you saw

SayUncle  The hot brass dance:
VFTP posted and then removed that after finding out the original posting was a private group and the poster requested it stay within the group only. Apparently the poster is a range dude there, don’t know if it’s the same one who’s lucky he didn’t catch one of those TWO FUCKING ND’s this idiot popped off directly at him.

When I first saw the video, I wondered if  the two flashes were just reflections of the overhead range lights off a chrome pistol.  Yes, he did break the 180, but ....

Thanks to the comments (above), we know that those were NGs behind the 180 degree limit of safe firearm movement.

I'm unsure about Uncle's comment request that the video "stay within the group only".

This is the sort of egregious safety violation which SHOULD be made public, if only to serve as an example to others.

If your primary duty to keep the gun facing downrange under any circumstances is forgotten in a moment of personal discomfort, you should reconsider the goals of your shooting career.

In one of the first IPSC matches she competed in, SWMBO caught a hot round down the front of her blouse.   She kept the gun pointed where it belongs .... downrange.

But she did yank the tail of her blouse out of her beltline and dropped the hot round on the ground before she finished the stage.   She never broke the 180.

Note: she never went to a match without fastening her top collar button.

I really miss that lady.

Just lay the pistol down on the table in front of you pointed downrange, safety on, and then clear your shirt of any brass. It is quicker and safer fumbling around for your holster.
