AMERICAN BY CHOICE: "Gun Control Does Not Work"

Gun Control --  Dissenting opinion:

Gun Violence is not an endemic issue in America.
(NOTE that much of the text here is taken from the video, and may not have been transcribed in perfect accordance to the original context.)

("Hensen Enge"?)

My name is is Henson Ong  (Waterbury Resident) .. forgive me, English is not my first language.

I am a LEGAL immigrant, and I am an American ... by choice.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity express my opinion, and to give my testimony in opposition.

The majority of the proposed bills, which do NOTHING to deter future crimes.

Gun control DOES NOT WORK!

Your own history is replete with high-school rifle teams, Boy Scout Marksmanship merit badges,

You can buy rifles at hardware stores; you can order them .. mail order .. delivered to your home.

Your country was awash, with readily available rifles and ammunition.

And yet, in your past, you did not have mass shootings,

Other people have already expressed the question:  "What's changed?"

It was NOT the sudden availability of guns; they are not increased ... they actually af decreased!

Other people have already expressed the question: "what's changed?"

It was not the suddenly availablity of guns, suddenly explored or are increased
It actually was decreased.
What was changed was the (?  the vital decay ?).

If "Gun Control" actually did work, Washington DC and Chicago would be the safest cities in your nation, but it is not: they have the toughest gun laws, and the highest murder rates.

Now (um ....) Some people ask: and called the AR15 ... they called the AR15 "A weapon of Mass Killing".

Well, it turns out that there are a few government agencies which disagree with that 'Mass Characterization'.

The Department of home Security has stated that ".,, a rifle shooting 5.56 Nato with a 30-round magazine is suitable for personal defense use"
(references cited, but not discernable @ 2:15 into the tape)

Now: who needs an AR15 with 30-round mags?  That question has also been brought up, and I would like to put forward that if the Koreans, in the L.A. Riots, not had the AR15, and AK37's, with 30-round magazines, AND Ruger 30's ... their businesses would have burned to the ground, like all of the other businesses in their neighborhood.

Theirs STOOD, because they STOOD THEIR GROUND!

I would also put forward to conjecture, that had that 10,000 students at Tiananmen Square not been unarmed .. things might not have resulted in so many of them disappearing.

In their (your?) own laws, the United States vs Miller (case law cited) it was made clear that the type of firearm protected by the Second Amendment were those specifically useful and and common for Military Use in defense of The State.

I would like to not that "The State" is not "The Government".

"The State" is "The People"

In "LEWIS v UNITED STATES (1980)",  it is stated that "...the second amendment guarantees no right to keep and bear firearms that does not have some reasonable relationship .. to the preservation and the efficiency of a 'well-regulated militia' .. ".   It has nothing to do with hunting.

The militia shows  .. it is consisted of all males physically capable of acting in concert for common defense .. and further, that ordinarily, when called for service, these members bearing arms supplied BY THEMSELVES .., in and of a kind of a common use at the time.

The AR15 is THE most common and popular rifle in America, at this time."

Running out of time, Enge quoted Judge Andrew Konzinski:
{partially gobbled}

My excellent colleagues have forgotten the bitter lessons of history. The prospect of Tyranny may not grab the headlines the way  vivid stories of "Gun Crimes" usually do, but (these ... didn't see the third reich coming until it was too late... as they usually do???)   The Second Amendment is a "Doomsday Provision":  one designed for only those 'exceptionally rare circumstances when all other rights have failed.    'A free people can only make this mistake ... once.

Such is not the doctrine as espoused by the democrat party.

I fear that the time for changing minds is gone. "For those who know, no explination is necessary. For those who don't, no explination will suffice."
Love your blog, Old Friend.
