... Over 100 people killed or injured by one person at a New Years Eve Party in Turkey, and there was nobody there able to stop the attack.
Don't you just hate it when Terrorists don't obey Gun Control Laws?
It isn't as if they didn't see this coming ...
November, 2016:
Last year, a close friend advised me to stop trying to make a meager living by writing articles. Instead, this friend said, I should take up firearms training for all the senior Turkish bureaucrats who have been rushing to buy guns. The problem, he said, was that these new gun owners had no idea how to use their weapons. My friend said that's why he began offering private training on how to care for, load, conceal and carry guns. The last phase of training is target practice at a range.Less than Two months later (TODAY!):
American among injured in Istanbul nightclub terror attack; gunman still at large | Fox News:
(January 01, 2017)
At least one U.S. citizen was injured during a deadly attack on an Istanbul nightclub -- and the terrorist responsible for the massacre remained at large Sunday evening. At least 39 people were killed and nearly 70 were wounded when a gunman opened fire shortly after a nightclub crowd had celebrated ringing in the New Year. "Unfortunately (he) rained bullets in a very cruel and merciless way on innocent people who were there to celebrate New Year's and have fun," Gov. Vasip Sahin told reporters. The attacker, armed with a long-barreled weapon, killed a policeman and a civilian outside the popular Reina club at around 1:15 a.m. before entering and firing on people partying inside.Wow!
ONE gunman. Wounded: 70 ... Killed: 39

But but but ... isn't Turkey among the most restrictive nations in terms of Gun Control?
Turkey
Turkey is generally considered restrictive in terms of gun control statutes.[59] Automatic and semi-automatic firearms are "prohibited for civilian possession (with no or limited exceptions)", and for any application, "an applicant may be asked to produce a medical certificate confirming he or she is capable of handling firearms and that he or she has no psychological — or physical — impediments"[60]Background checks are mandatory, and a "genuine reason" is required for issue of licenses[61]
Michael Bloomberg, this is all On Your Head!

Just a wild guess, but the nightclub was probably a gun free zone.
I hope you had a happy new year and avoided overdoing the worst of the New Years Eve excesses. Have a bright and chipper 2d New Years Day to you.
