Whose line is it?

During a press briefing on Wednesday, deputy State Department spokesperson Marie Harf condemned the beheading of American journalist James Foley by Islamic terrorists while adding that the threat posed by the terror group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) “is not about the United States and what we do.”

The AP reporter (Matt Lee) took Harf to task about the statement, but Harf stood fast.

One wonders whether AP Reporter Matt Lee really thinks that ISIS is slaughtering Iraqis ... muslims and christians, and anyone in between, because of American policy?

Could it be that they (ISIS) is composed of EVIL people who will commit any crime, kill anyone, perform any insane act, in order to intimidate their opposition?



Mathew Bracken, in his post "The Islamic Jihad Conquest Formula", posited that there were eight steps in the process of Islamic conquest:

1. During the battle and immediately afterward, there is a period of unbelievable savagery and wanton hyper-violence.
2. Captured men will be beheaded, shot or enslaved.
3. Women and teenage girls will be kidnapped as sex-slaves, to be sold at auction to the highest bidders.
4. Children younger than twelve will be kidnapped and raised under Sharia law by the very men who murdered or enslaved their parents.
5. Conquered property will be looted as legitimate war booty.
6. The promised Islamic reward for dying in jihad is a perpetual orgy in “paradise” with 72 virgins.
7. The Black Flag of Jihad has been the battle flag of Islam from the time of Mohammed until today.
8. The lure of capturing male and female slaves and obtaining other forms of loot and plunder is the Islamic jihad conquest formula.

We have already seen the first three ... perhaps the first four ... steps demonstrated by ISIS.

Does anyone really believe that these maniacs have in mind the mere subjugation of America?

No.  Their ambition is much greater.  They are the group which is determined upon Global Jihad ... the subjugation of every country in the world, beginning with the most powerful.

They may be crazy, but they're not stupid.  If they can convince intimidate the American President ... Obama (who in their mind might be at least marginally amenable, and who they obviously consider to be a weak ruler) ... then their plan of Rule By Terror might conceivably be the ultimate Radical Muslim plan for global domination.

ISIS has just sent their emissaries to America .... via the international press.  Their goal is to undermine our American will to resist by promising even worse atrocities.

Worse than burying people alive.  Worse that cutting children in half.   Worse than eating children. Worse than the rape and slaughter which they have already shown that they are capable of doing, and gleefully.

They threaten Americans, because they know we are a soft target.  We're Oreos ... crispy on the outside and cream-puffs on the inside.

(Perhaps they wouldn't have chosen that analogy, but it's clear that this is their perception.


So ... when Obama's Spokesperson says "it's not about us", and the AP reporter takes her to task .... one can't help but wonder which is the most naive.


Does the AP guy think we, We Americans, are The Whole World?

Maybe we are, maybe we aren't.  But if we cave in ... who is left to defend Civilization?

If the Obama spokesperson says "it isn't about us", despite the obvious taunts of ISIS; is she being disingenuous, or doesn't The Government Get It?  

(Or is she suggesting that they already understand that if they can get us to back off, there is nobody else who will stand up to their inhumanity?)

Isn't that our whole 'line', which we have been touting for the past century?

If not us .. whose line IS it, anyway?
