Unpopular Speech and the First Amendment

All The News That's Fit To Print

That's the motto of the New York Times, and today The New York Times one again shows its true  colors by coloring its opinion according to their radically leftest political bent,  In doing so, the Newspaper of Record reveals itself as being inimical to the Constitution of the country which it purports to love.

New York Times Victim-Blames Pamela Geller: 'Achieved Her Provocative Goal' by Causing Terrorist Attack - Breitbart:
(May 07, 2014)

On Thursday, The New York Times editorial board announced that Pamela Geller, the activist behind the Mohammed-drawing contest in Texas, brought a terrorist attack upon herself by hosting the event. The Times paid lip service to the notion that Geller’s speech falls under First Amendment protection but then added, “It is equally clear that the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest in Garland, Tex., was not really about free speech. It was an exercise in bigotry and hatred posing as a blow for freedom.”
Let us once again discuss the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

That Constitutional Amendment was designed to protect z?Unpopularz"  (or "Provative") Speech .. by restricting its ability to pass a law against it.

The New York Times can say anything it wants to about Pamela Geller and her statements.

And Pamela Geller can say anything she wants to about ... anything.

The American Government is not a partner to the dialogue.

Unless you consider the NY Times a partner to the Obama Administration.

Someone tell me how a cartoon represents provocative hate speech? I guess the Sunday funny papers are hate speech, as well as the daily political cartoons found in most newspapers. The world has turned upside down and the inmates are running the asylum.
