Thank you, Mister President

SayUncle Obama likes gun confiscation:
Yup, he just praised a forced disarmament of civilians.
DRILL DOWN:

Say Uncle linked to a "National Review Online/The Corner" article (June 10, 2014) in which the author, Charles C.W. Cooke, averred:

Speaking to users of the blogging platform Tumblr, President Obama today praised Australia’s confiscation of firearms. Obama said:
(")Couple of decades ago, Australia had a mass shooting, similar to Columbine or Newtown. And Australia just said, well, that’s it, we’re not doing, we’re not seeing that again, and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws, and they haven’t had a mass shooting since.
Our levels of gun violence are off the charts. There’s no advanced, developed country that would put up with this.(")
In other words, the president of the United States just praised a government for forcefully removing all semi-automatic firearms (i.e. a remarkable number of the guns in America and the majority of those sold today)
 from its citizenry.
(Note this Presidential statement seems to have been spoken in the same statement cited here yesterday in this Geekish article.)

At the risk of seeming hard-hearted (by ignoring the tragedy of the Oregon/Troutdale School Shooting) it seems clear that the long-touted Obama assertion the "I am not going to take your guns away from you, that just ain't true" is just one more lie from our President.

IS that an 'agenda item' for the President?

I don't know.

Our President says so much, and means so little, that it's difficult to parse his statements into a discernible "statement of interest" (if you will).

As tragic as a 'school shooting' is ... and I hope the friends and family of the victims will forgive me for saying so ... the strong suggestions by our President in this speech that suggest that one of his agenda items is to circumvent the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Many Americans have charged Obama with dissembling speech during his tenure, we don't need to list the issues which have lowered his approval ratings except to note that the accumulation of lies (eg: "if you like your insurance, you can keep it") have given the lie to his promise of "the most transparent presidency".

.  The Atlantic; July 16, 2012: I will also hold myself as president to a new standard of openness .... Let me say it as simply as I can: Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.

. The Hill; February 14, 2013: ...: "This is the most transparent administration in history," Obama said during a Google Plus "Fireside" Handout; "I can document that this is the case," he continued.

But has the President made good on these, or other promises?
No.

Has he made an obvious attempt to cleave to his vow of veracity, honor, or "transparency"?
No.

Speaking for those of us (and I include myself among them) who were once willing to accept the Presidents vows of honesty, we are disillusioned and no longer willing to accept Our Presidents promises on face value.

Mister President, this may have been the most fatal blow you could have dealt to your integrity in the view of those of us who are "Law Abiding Firearms Owners: ... or, as your Liberal constituents have termed us  "Gun Nuts".

I cannot trust you at all, Mr. President.  Your actions and recent words have demonstrated that you would like nothing better than to take our firearms away.

Which, of course, would leave only the outlaws and the drug-pushers and the criminals in possession of firearms.

And we, who have so studiously obeyed the law, would be left with nothing more than "Victim-hood".

Thank you, Mister President

Actually he just informed us of what he intends to do via executive order and federal law enforcement.
